Belmullet is
a lively town located near the westernmost point of County Mayo. With a population of just 1,200 it
serves as the commercial and administrative center of a large rural area of
around 12,000 people and has facilities typical of a much larger town. It is well served with shops,
banks, bakery, cafes, hotel and guest houses, hospital, garages, a
dance-hall, community centre, airstrip, hairdressers, swimming pool and
twenty public houses.
The town itself dates from around 1820 and lies in between two large
bays, Blacksod and Broadhaven.
The area is characterized by the spectacular coastline and beautiful
surrounding scenery. The
Mullet Peninsula, which stretches 26 km by 16 km from Blacksod point on the
south to Erris head in the north, offers miles of secluded beaches and coves.
It has many and varied archaeological sites and is
close to the famous Neolithic remains at Ceide Fields. To the Northwest is a stretch of
virgin bogland and a thriving fishing community at Carrowteige.

In September of last year, Mayo County Council approved
a proposal for development of Belmullet Quay including a substantial
increase in docking space. It is intended that this construction of a
‘marina’ will attract more tourist shipping and will ultimately lead to the
provision of more shops, accommodation and other facilities.
Within a
short drive of Belmullet are Bangor Erris, nestled between Lough Carrowmore
and the Nephin Beg Mountains, Crossmolina, Achill Island and Newport . This is the ideal place to enjoy
Ireland and Irish scenery at its best, with the advantages of living in a
modern town and having the unspoilt wilderness on your doorstep.
The
Apartments will be finished to a high standard with 6-panel regency doors,
white deal skirting and architraving, teak front windows to front, brown
PVC windows to rear and stainless steel balconies.
Both apartments are home bonded.
