Williamstown is a pretty, bustling town that still retains much of the atmosphere of the old Ireland. There is a traditional Parochial House, a well supported GAA pitch and community centre and four pubs. Because of its central location and excellent infrastructure several developers have decided to build new housing projects within the town. When the current projects are complete there will be 550 houses within the town limits and more in the surrounding countryside. In addition, there is a large volume of passing vehicular traffic (estimated at 3,000 vehicles a day) travelling to Galway, Castlerea and beyond. The town also has a well-considered national school, an excellent new playground adjacent to the GA centre with modern rides and shock absorbing surface. A choice of secondary schools is available in Glenamaddy, Castlerea and Dunmore. |

Just outside of town are several factories including a furniture manufacturing centre and Main Street includes a good number of specialist stores and professional offices.
There is an established demand within the town for local supermarket facilities as wall as hardware, gardening and building supplies. This site provides an excellent opportunity to extend the existing supermarket, provide a substantial car park to accommodate out-of-town shoppers and integrate a large hardware supplier that would cater to a much wider community. With these facilities, Williamstown could become a shopping centre for the region and cater for the continued expansion of the town. |
